GCS Safety- We will be implementing new Carline and Safety measures all during the year in a continuing effort to keep you children safe. Please bear with any slight inconveniences. Your children's safety is priority #1 for me and will not be compromised.
A few safety tips for the new school year- 1. During Fire/Intruder/Tornado drills no one is allowed to enter the building until they are over. We're practicing our safety!1 2. Only enter Green Charter School through the front office and make sure you sign in. No one is allowed in without an appointment. Our kids are told to never open the door for strangers. 4. If you arrive later than 0800 please walk your chil(ren) to the front desk and sign them in. DO NOT DROP THEM OFF UNATTENDED!!
OFFICER TONY’S TOP TEN RULES
1. When answering an adult, answer with a “Yes Ma’am” or “No Sir”. Just nodding your head or mumbling “Yeah” or “Uh-huh” is unacceptable. 2. Make eye contact. When someone is speaking, keep your eyes on them, not at the ground. If someone makes a comment, turn and face that person. 3. If you win or do well at something, don’t brag. It’s fine to be proud of doing well, but don’t be a bad winner. Act like you’ve been there before. If you lose, don’t show anger or be a bad sport. Be proud of the fact you tried your best, and learn from your mistakes so you can do better next time. It’s never a loss if you learned something from it. 4. Do not roll your eyes, smack your lips, or be disrespectful with gestures. 5. If you make a mistake, tell the truth and own up to it. People will respect that. If you lie about what you’ve done, no one will believe or respect you in the future. 6. Remember, nothing is given, especially from me. You have to earn it. That’s the way it works in the real world, so get used to it. You’re smart enough, now go do it! 7. Don’t complain about something and not offer a solution about how to fix the problem. Otherwise, that’s just whining. Think through your problems for a solution. 8. If anyone in the school is bullying or bothering you, let me or an adult know. I and the other adults are here to protect you. 9. Be a leader of yourself. Work on being the best person YOU can be. Don’t copy or follow others, especially if they’re a knucklehead. 10. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re not smart enough or good enough to do something. Go for it, give it your best, and see where it takes you!!
